MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 22, 1992 <br />Jane Haukland asked for an estimate on the cost of <br />sewer and water. <br />Allman estimated that the cost of a full improvement <br />including sanitary sewer, watermain, storm sewer, curb <br />and gutter and street was $110 per front foot. This <br />cost would be split between the two sides of the street <br />Roberts asked for a clarification of the street name. <br />Blesener indicated that the developer is suggesting <br />Maple Lane. <br />FIRE DEPT. Council reviewed the application submitted by the Fire <br />PREMISE Department as part of their annual review for their <br />PERMIT qambling premise permit. Staff noted that Sheriff's <br />REVIEW Department background checks are pending. Also, the <br />Fire Department is in the process of negotiating their <br />lease agreement at the Little Canada Bingo Hall. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-7-243 - APPROVING THE ANNUAL REVIEW <br />OF LITTLE CANADA FIRE DEPARTMENT PREMISE PERMIT FOR THE <br />PERIOD AUGUST 1, 1992 THROUGH JULY 31, 1993 CONTINGENT <br />UPON SATISFACTORY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT BACKGROUND <br />CHECKS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Blesener, LaValle, Scalze, Aanson. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Scalze pointed out that Lake Owasso Residence has not <br />been able to negotiate a lease agreement with Mover's <br />Warehouse. The result has been that Lake Owasso is <br />currently out of business at the bingo hall, and the <br />landlord has given their night to the North Suburban <br />Youth Association. Scalze asked why a night of bingo <br />could be transferred to another organization by the <br />landlord without Council approval. <br />Betty Strohbeen, Lake Owasso Residence, indicated that <br />it was her understanding that the transfer was <br />temporary until Lake Owasso could reach an agreement on <br />the lease with the landlord. <br />Scalze stated that she could accept a temporary <br />transfer, but cannot understand how a permanent <br />transfer can be made without City approval.
