MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 22, 1992
proposal.
Blesener agreed that this should be considered.
Allman suggested that if the sewer line needs to be
lowered to provide access for the Jackson Street homes,
and the lowering increases the cost of the sewer, there
should be some consideration for covering those
increased costs.
Blesener suggested that the City Engineer address the
sanitary sewer issue in review of this proposal.
The City Administrator suggested that the key was the
grading plan. The Administrator indicated that staff
will make sure this issue is addressed.
Roberts reported that currently he has run-off draining
down his driveway, and would like this problem
corrected as part of the development proposal.
The City Administrator noted that this issue will be
evaluated as part of the grading plan, noting that a
development cannot contribute water onto adjacent
properties.
Von Reidel noted that the new street will have curb and
gutter which will contain run-off and direct it into
catch basins and into the storm sewer. Von Reidel felt
this will help Mr. Roberts' existing situation.
The City Administrator noted that the improvements are
developer initiated, and the City will not be
undertaking an improvement for this project.
Roberts reported that Jackson Street is currently
unstable, and asked if there were any improvements
planned for that street. Roberts also noted that he
wanted to avoid a situation where he would need a lift
station to access sanitary sewer.
Blesener felt the sewer issue would be addressed in a
review of the grading plan.
The City Administrator noted that the City is currently
evaluating all City streets to determine if they
warrant improvement. This evaluation will be presented
to the City Council, and Jackson Street will be
included in the evaluation.
Gene Leo, LaBore Road resident, asked if the proposal
is approved, whether Jackson Street, and LaBore Road
will be upgraded, and questioned the need for curb and
gutter.
Page 8
