MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 12, 1992 <br />participate adequately in the cost of this lateral, it <br />can be eliminated from the project. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-8-266 - APPROVING PLANS AND <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE LABORE ROAD IMPROVEMENT FROM <br />DESOTO STREET TO EDGERTON STREET, AND ORDERING <br />ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR THAT IMPROVEMENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Hanson, Collova, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />COMMUNITY Hanson reported that the Community Pride Committee has <br />PRIDE been continuing to meet. One of the things being <br />COMMITTEE planned is a clean-up day to be held in late September <br />REPORT or early October. The committee will be checking into <br /> arranging for the disposal of appliances, setting up a <br /> dumpster location, chipping and disposal of brush, <br /> etc. There will be a charge for these services, <br /> however, it is estimated that it will be lower than <br /> what a private hauler might charge. Hanson reported <br /> that the Committee has been offered the use of the <br /> Market Place Shopping Center parking lot as a possible <br /> location. It is the committee's feeling that if the <br /> City wants to get code enforcement compliance, it will <br /> have to offer residents and businesses a place to <br /> dispose of some of these difficult-to-get-rid-of items. <br />ECONOMIC Hanson reported that Loren Brueggemann has been working <br />DEVELOPMENT with Mr. Gagne on forming a partnership for the Kandice <br /> Heiqhts III development. Mr. Gagne has indicated no <br /> agreement has been reached, and Mr. Brueggemann may be <br /> withdrawing his development proposal for Kandice <br /> Aeights III. Hanson also noted that Mr. Brueggemann <br /> has chose not to renew his option on the Nadeau <br /> property. <br />Hanson reported that Presbyterian Homes and the Vitali <br />family have arrived at a price for the property being <br />considered by Presbyterian Homes for a senior citizen <br />housing development. Presbyterian Homes is in the <br />process of doing a similar project in Bloomington, and <br />would like to finance the two projects as a package in <br />order to achieve some economies in financing costs. <br />The City Administrator reported that Presbyterian Homes <br />is considering Housing Revenue Bonds to finance the <br />projects, and these bonds would not be an obligation of <br />the City.
