MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 26, 1992 <br />FINAL The City Administrator recommended final payment to <br />PAYMENT Frattalone Excavating in the amount of $10,597.60 for <br />COUNTRY DR. the Country Drive project. The City Engineer has <br />reviewed the request and recommends approval. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-8-294 - APPROVING FINAL PAYMENT TO <br />FRATTALONE EXCAVATING IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,597.60 FOR <br />THE COUNTRY DRIVE PROJECT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Hanson, Scalze, Collova. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />PRESBYTERIAN The City Administrator noted that for Council <br />HOMES information there is a copy of a letter sent by <br />LETTER TO Presbyterian Homes to those individuals on the waitinq <br />WAITING list for the new senior housing project. The <br />LIST Administrator noted that another mailing will go out <br />within the next six weeks to further update those <br />individuals on the project. Presbyterian Homes will <br />also include interested seniors in focus groups to <br />discuss site amenities. <br />COMMUNITY Hanson reported that the Community Pride Committee met <br />PRIDE this morning and further discussed the clean-up day <br />COMMITTEE they are planning for October lOth. The committee is <br />REPORT making arrangements for the collection of such items as <br />appliances, tires, construction materials, etc. No <br />household hazardous materials will be collected, but <br />the County may be willing to have someone on duty at <br />their collection site that day. Information will be <br />prepared to distribute on this program. <br />Scalze noted that the collection will be handled <br />primarily by BFI employees, with some help by City <br />employees. There will be a substantial cost savings <br />for pick up of items, since it is a larger scale <br />operation. Estimate cost of pick-up of an appliance is <br />$7. The committee has discussed moving up distribution <br />of the next newsletter to help promote the event. <br />There may be a flyer ready for distribution on Primary <br />Election Day as well. Any volunteers would be greatly <br />appreciated. <br />Scalze reported that City help is being requested for <br />funding to help with the cost of a chipper and <br />publicity. The committee has recommended that the cost <br />come from the 10% Capital Improvement Fund. <br />Page 16 <br />
