MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 26, 1992
Blesener pointed out that the road will have to match
up with LaBore Road on the south and Allen Avenue on
the north.
The City Administrator reported that the Vanderbie Road
project is part of a feasibility study which includes
Edgerton Street and Allen Avenue. The Administrator
reported that the Vanderbie improvements and utilities
would have to be in place before the final plat was
effective.
Bruhn was concerned that the road would be lowered 2
1/2 feet.
DeBace indicated that he said the garage elevations had
to be 2 1/2 feet above the road, not that the road
would be lowered 2 1/2 feet. DeBace stated that in his
opinion, the road needed to be lowered some, but he did
not know how much. DeBace reported that the City
Engineer would work out these details. The elevations
of the new houses will be determined by the elevation
of the road.
The City Administrator pointed out that there are a lot
of controlling factors in determining the elevation of
Vanderbie, those include matching to LaBore Road and
Al1en Avenue, and the existing lot grades.
Milan Moravetz, 476 Al1en Avenue, asked the effect of a
new elevation for Vanderbie on Allen Avenue.
DeBace replied that that question cannot be answered
until the City Engineer brings in the feasibility
report. DeBace thought that Al1en Avenue was slightly
lower than Vanderbie. DeBace pointed out that whatever
the City Engineer comes up with will be in accordance
with engineering standards.
Moravetz reported that Allen Avenue currently drains,
and to change the road will change the drainage.
Blesener stated that the City Engineer will look at all
these issues and tie them together.
There was no one else from the general public present
wishing to comment on this matter.
Upon motion by Blesener, seconded by LaValle, the
public hearing was closed.
Blesener suggested that a condition of approval be that
the outbuildings on the property be removed.
Page 7
