MINUTES CITY COUNCIL DECEMBER 9, 1992 RESOLUTION NO. 92-12-450 - APPROVING THE 1993 AUDIT CONTRACT AS SUBMITTED The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Hanson, Collova, Scalze. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. ASSESSMENT Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and REAPPORTION- moved its adoption: MENT TWO S RESOLUTION NO. 92-12-451 - APPROVING THE ASSESSMENT PROPERTIES REAPPORTIONMENT FOR PROPERTY DIVISION #DA064057 TWO S PROPERTIES AS REQUESTED BY RAMSEY COUNTY The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Hanson, LaValle, Collova. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. CHARITABLE Glanzer reported that discussion of a non-payment of GAMBLING l0o gambling donation by St. Joseph's Society for Charity had been scheduled for this evening. However, St. Joseph's has now made the required payment. There is one other charity that has a small outstanding balance for the 10% payment. This is being addressed with the charity, and will, hopefully, be resolved shortly. ECONOMIC Hanson reported that the St. Jude's project is moving DEVELOPMENT along nicely. Hanson also indicated that 23 or 24 units in the Presbyterian Homes project have already been committed. PUBLIC Aanson indicated that early next year a representative SAFETY of the Mayor's Commission Against Drugs will address the Council on their activities and goals for that program. WATER RATES Hanson reported that the City of St. Paul has notified the City of a large increase in water rates for 1993. As a result the City is exploring options. Blesener indicated that St. Paul is asking for a 22% increase in rates. Little Canada is being charged one of the highest rates of user cities simply because it does not have enough usage. Blesener felt it was time for the City to again explore its options. The City Administrator reported that some of the Page 18
