MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 13, 1993 <br />1993 The City Administrator submitted for approval the <br />5HERIFF'S 1993 Sheriff's Contract. The Administrator reported <br />CoNTRACT that the contract has been reviewed and modified by the <br />review group made up of contracting cities. The <br />contract amount included in the contract was a part of <br />the City's 1993 Budget. <br />The City Attorney reported that the contract appears to <br />be in proper form. <br />Mr. Pedersen introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 93-1-16 - ACCEPTING THE 1993 CONTRACT <br />WITH THE RAMSEY COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE <br />THE CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (4) Pedersen, Scalze, Hanson, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />HIRING The City Administrator reported that 115 applications <br />ACCOUNTING were received for the position of Accounting Clerk. Of <br />CLERK those applications, 10 candidates were interviewed. <br />The City Administrator reported that he has selected a <br />top candidate for the position, and is currently <br />completing reference checks. The Administrator <br />requested authorization to hire the top candidate <br />should the reference checks prove satisfactory. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 93-1-17 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO HIRE THE TOP CANDIDATE HE HAS SEL~CTED <br />FOR THE POSITION OF ACCOUNTING CLERK UPON COMPLETION OF <br />SATISFACTORY REFERENCE CHECKS, AND AT A SALARY RATE HE <br />FEELS APPROPRIATE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE SALARY SCALE <br />FOR THAT POSITION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, Morelan, Hanson, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />OLD FIRE Hanson reported that he is seeking volunteers to serve <br />STATION on a committee to study the use of the old fire <br />COMMITTEE station. Hanson reported that he believes that the <br />committee should consist of two members of the <br />public-at-large, the City's Emergency Services <br />Director, Parks and Recreation Director, Public Works <br />Page 14 <br />
