MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 13, 1993 <br />Superintendent, Building Inspector, representatives of <br />the City Council and Fire Department. once the <br />committee is formed, it can begin looking at issues <br />such as the physical plant, needed building <br />improvements, cost of maintenance and upkeep, the <br />potential for competition with the rental hall across <br />the street, the parking situation, etc. <br />Hanson stated that he hoped to have the committee <br />formed by the next Council meeting so that it can begin <br />work. <br />NO PARKING Hanson reported that the Sheriff's Department has <br />COUNTRY DR. reported that there is a problem with semi's parking on <br />both sides of Country Drive along the southern portion <br />of that street. The Sheriff's Department feels that <br />this is creating a hazardous situation. <br />Scalze noted that the rest of Country Drive is already <br />posted as no-parking. <br />Morelan acknowledged that the parking situation is a <br />safety issue, but £elt that posting the street as no <br />parking in that particular area will be a detriment to <br />business. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-1-18 - INSTRUCTING PUBLIC WORKS TO <br />POST THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF COUNTRY DRIVE AS NO <br />PARKING ON BOTH THE EAST AND WEST SIDES OF THE STREET <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, Pedersen, Hanson, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />KANDICE III The City Administrator reported that staff is currently <br />evaluating a proposal for a Kandice Heights Phase III <br />development. Staff will report further as details of <br />the project become more specific. <br />LIONS CLUB Hanson reported that the Ramsey 500 Lions will be <br />holding a gold plate dinner at the Venetian Inn on <br />Sunday, February 28, 1993. Since the Lions Club hold a <br />Class D gambling license, there is no approval <br />necessary from the City Council. <br />GAMBLING Hanson reminded the Council of the 6:30 P.M. gambling <br />WORKSHOP workshop to be held on Wednesday, January 27th. <br />Page 15 <br />
