MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MARCH 24, 1993
Projected occupancy date for the first completed units
is May 21st.
LaValle reported that one of the charities operating at
the Little Canada Bingo Hall has donated funds for the
construction and furnishing of the library, gameroom
and dining room at The Mayfield. LaValle also reported
that there will be grand opening celebrations for both
the general public and new residents, and encouraged
people to attend and see what a fine facility it is.
Hanson reported that Presbyterian Homes has
complemented Little Canada for their strong support of
the project.
GARCEAU/ Hanson reported that Thursday, March 25th, the Little
BIBEAU Canada Historical Society will be honoring the
FAMILY Garceau/Bibeau family in a celebration at the
Historical Society site in the old fire station.
PROPERTY Kurt Sloan, representing Quicksilver Delivery Service,
DIVISION appeared before the Council requesting the property
QUICKSILVER division of 203, 219, 221, and 223 Little Canada Road.
Sloan reported that Quicksilver is purchasing the 203
Little Canada Road building as their office location.
These properties are currently under one ownership,
therefore, the property needs to be split so the 203
building can be sold.
The City Planner indicated that he was concerned about
a property division involvinq a complicated metes and
bounds description. However, after discussing this
issue with the applicant, it was the recommendation of
the Planning Commission to allow the division by simple
subdivision. The applicant had indicated that
Quicksilver intends to purchase the property
immediately to the north and would then plat the the
two properties as one.
Sloan indicated that this was true, it was
Quicksilver's intention to purchase the property
immediately to the north to expand parking into the
back of that lot. Sloan anticipated that the
acquisition of that property would occur within 60
days.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 93-3-72 - APPROVING THE PROPERTY
DIVISION OF 203~ 219, 221, AND 223 LITTLE CANADA ROAD
AS REQUESTED BY QUICKSILVER DELIVERY SERVICE AS
RECOMMENDED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION
Page 3
