MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 26, 2025 <br />Mayor Fischer asked if there is a dedicated laptop for this currently and whether the updates would <br />allow someone to have remote access from other sources. The Public Works Director confirmed that <br />there is currently a laptop at the booster station that stays in place to run the system. He stated that will <br />be replaced with a chip in the controls. <br />Gutierrez introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2025-3-46 — A WARDING THE BOOSTER STA TION CONTROLS <br />UPGRADE PROJECT TO TELEMETRY & PROCESS CONTROLS, INC. IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $43,548 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Miller. <br />Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />2025 CONTRACT WITH LITTLE CANADA FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />The Acting City Administrator explained that the 2025 contract with the Little Canada Fire <br />Department includes the numbers that were used within the 2025 budget. She referenced language <br />within the contract related to the service area, which mentions the legal limits of Little Canada, but <br />noted that the Department also provides service through mutual aid. She stated that language has been <br />updated to make that addition. <br />Mayor Fischer acknowledged the mutual aid agreement, noting that the Fire Department recently <br />participated in a mutual aid call this past weekend for an incident in Shoreview. <br />Mayor Fischer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2025-3-47 - APPROVING THE 2025 FIRE PROTECTION <br />CONTRA CT WITH THE LITTLE CANADA FIRE DEPARTMENT AS PRESENTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Kwapick. <br />Ayes (4). Resolution declared adopted. <br />RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR MINNESOTA DNR LOCAL TRAIL CONNECTIONS <br />PROGRAM GRANT APPLICATION <br />The Parks and Recreation Director explained that the city is pursuing a grant through the Minnesota <br />DNR Local Trail Connections Program for the Thunder Bay Trail Boardwalk Replacement Project. <br />He provided details on the new boardwalk design, which is a collaborative project with the City of <br />Maplewood. He stated that funds have been budgeted within the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for <br />the project, and the cost will be split between Little Canada and Maplewood, estimating a cost of <br />$380,000. He stated that if the $250,000 is awarded through the grant, the City of Little Canada would <br />provide a match of $72,000. He noted that the Parks and Recreation Commission recommends <br />approval of the resolution of support to be submitted with the grant application. <br />Kwapick asked if the city is the only party submitting the grant or whether Maplewood is cosigning the <br />application.
