MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 8, 1993
The City Administrator suggested that perhaps a special
meeting should be called to consider any premise
permits that are submitted. The Council could act on
premise permits subject to signed lease agreements and
subject to issuance of a bingo hall license. The
Administrator pointed out that TCF needs input on which
organizations are acceptable and on what basis.
Scalze asked if the hall liaense would also be
considered.
The Administrator felt that might be premature since
the issue of tenants needs to be resolved as well as a
rotation schedule.
Joseph Vitale stated that he appreciated the process,
but asked that a decision be made. Vitale pointed out
that a shut down of the hall forces the lay-off of good
employees and the chance that the employees will not
come back once the hall reopens.
Krogman pointed out that
charities, of which only
question. Matson agreed that the longer the bingo
hall is closed, the more difficult it will be to get
qualified employees to return. Matson asked that the
City either act on the TCF binqo hall application or
renew the license for Mover's Warehouse so that the
bingo hall operation can be continued. Matson pointed
out that NSYA's interest in moving to the Market Place
is one of economics only.
Morelan asked if the City could approve the TCF
license, and should TCF not successfully negotiate any
Page 9
