MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 23, 1993
Fred Schletty indicated that he did not receive a
notice of the Park and Recreation Commission meeting.
The Administrative Assistant noted that she oalled and
spoke with Mr. Schletty and informed him of the Park
and Recreation Commission meeting of June 17th and the
fact that park charge for Fredrickshaven Second
Addition would be discussed at that meetinq.
Schletty reported that the wetland area is a bog and
questioned the ability of anyone to walk through it.
The City Planner reported that the developer would like
to come back for preliminary and final plat approval of
Fredrickshaven Second Addition in July. Therefore, if
the Council has any comments or recommendations with
regard to the concept, those should be made now.
Scalze stated that she would like to know the
recommendation of the Park and Recreation Commission
with regard to park charge.
Schletty reported that his family would like to get the
final plat approved as quickly as possible so as not to
be involved in road construction in the late fall.
Schletty pointed out that road construction for the
first addition was caught in the 30-inch snowfall of
1991. Schletty pointed out that the concept before the
Council provides for less density, therefore, reduced
run-off, and less encroachment into the wetlands than
the first plan which was approved by the Council.
Schletty felt that the Fredrickshaven Second Addition
as presented will be an asset to the community.
Morelan asked about drainage of the site.
Schletty reported that drainage is beinq engineered and
it is proposed that storm sewer will be installed and
run toward the lake. Drainage plans will be available
as part of the preliminary and final platting process.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 93-6-187 - APPROVING THE CONCEPT OF THE
FREDRICKSHAVEN SECOND ADDITION AS PRESENTED SUBJECT TO
THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION
COMMISSION WITH REGARD TO PARK CHARGE
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Scalze, Morelan, Hanson.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
Page 7
