MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 23, 1993
affirmative votes of the Council to pass it, while if
the improvement is Council initiated it would take four
votes to pass.
Rustad stated that he would like to put in the sanitary
sewer as a private project since Public Works has
indicated that they would not be interested in
maintaining another lift station.
Scalze felt that the City Engineer should look at what
is the best type of improvement for the area and
whether that improvement should be public or private.
The City Planner noted that lift stations are used
commonly where there is no other alternative.
The City Administrator agreed that the City Engineer
should do a quick review of the situation. The
Administrator pointed out that if it is determined that
the improvement should be public, then the process must
follow Chapter 429, and a feasibility study ordered.
Morelan suqgested that the Fngineer's quick review
include a list of properties which would benefit by the
improvement. Morelan suggested that if there is a
public benefit, R& S may want to petition for the
public improvement of the sanitary sewer.
There was no one from the general public present
wishing to comment on this matter.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 93-6-188 - APPROVING THE CONCEPT OF THE
AMENDMENT TO PUD TO ALLOW FOR THE EXPANSION OF AN
EXISTING BUILDING AS WELL AS ALLOW A CHANGE IN THE
CURRENT PARKING PLAN FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 38
WOODLYN AVENUE AS REQUESTED BY R& S AUTOMOTIVE BASED
ON THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNER AS CONTAINED
IN HIS REPORT DATED JUNE 7, 1993 AND INSTRUCTING THE
CITY ENGINEER TO DO A CURSORY REVIEW OF A STREET AND
SANITARY SEWER PROJECT ALONG WOODLYN AVENUE
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Hanson, Morelan, Pedersen.
Nays (0).
