MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 14, 1993 <br />Pedersen pointed out that the City must pay for its <br />recreational programming one way or another. <br />It was suggested that this matter be placed on the <br />agenda for the July 28th Council meeting and that the <br />agenda packet contain the letter from the Recreation <br />Director on this issue as well as a comparison of <br />program fees. <br />10% Morelan suggested that the City proceed with funding of <br />CAPITAL additional items on the 10% Capital Improvement List <br />IMPROVEMENT at this time since the City's application for CDBG <br />LIST funds for renovation of the old fire station building <br />was denied and there is no longer the need to reserve <br />these monies in the event that the work would proceed. <br />Scalze suggested that <br />committee looks at the <br />old fire station since <br />that will be necessary <br />the CDBG is available <br />the Council wait until the <br />use of the lower level of the <br />there may be some improvements <br />to make to the building whether <br />or not. <br />LaValle agreed. <br />The City Administrator <br />requests be solicited <br />List if the Council is <br />that list. <br />suggested that additional <br />to the 10% Capital Improvement <br />going to consider a reranking of <br />Scalze suggested that the Building Official give the <br />Council a report on what is needed to bring the old <br />fire station up to life safety codes and an estimated <br />price for those improvements. <br />Pedersen asked if these improvements would be paid for <br />from the 10% Capital Improvement Fund. <br />The City Administrator replied that that decision has <br />not yet been made. <br />Morelan suggested that the 10% Capital Improvement Fund <br />may not be used to pay for renovation costs for the old <br />fire station. Morelan pointed out that the fund would <br />not be larqe enough to cover the costs. <br />Scalze felt it would depend on what improvements are <br />actually needed to the building. <br />BRUHN Mr. Clarence Bruhn, Vanderbie Road, asked what will <br />PROPERTY happen with the swampy area behind his home as a part <br />of the development of the Wright property on Costa <br />Lane. <br />Page 17 <br />
