MINOTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUI,Y 28, 1993
be evaluated, and fairly accurate cost estimates
developed so the City would be ready to coordinate a
water main project with a road improvement if one were
to occur.
The City Administrator felt that the City Engineer
should put together some detailed estimates for Keller
Parkway as well as Lakeside.COUrt at this time.
Information should also be put together for water main
projects on the remaining single-frontage roads in the
City without water main. The Administrator felt that
the City should give these property owners one last
opportunity for a water main improvement. Coordinating
such improvements with a road improvement will minimize
the cost.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 93-7-238 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER
TO PREPARE A FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR IMPROVEMENT OF
KELLER PARKWAY AND LAKESIDE COURT BY WATER MAIN, AND
FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE ENGINEER TO PREPARE COST
ESTIMATES FOR WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS ON THE CITY'S
REMAINING SINGLE-FRONTAGE ROADS WITHOUT SUCH
IMPROVEMENT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Hanson, Pedersen, Morelan.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
The City Administrator reported that the City Engineer
is currently working on a street improvement program
for 1994 as well as some long-range planning in this
area.
CANADIAN Bill Bruce, representing the Canadian Days Committee,
DAYS reported that the Committee has solicited assistance
SIGNAGE from local businesses. While some businesses have
provided cash assistance, others are offering
services. Sky Tracker Company located in Little Canada
is offering to provide a search light for use both
Friday and Saturday nights to help people locate the
celebration. They are also offering a supersign and an
inflatable sign. The supersign would be a large
scrolling sign and the inflatable a large inflatable
dinosaur. Bruce reported that he has asked the Fire
Chief if the two supersigns could be located in front
of the fire station to help direct people to the
celebration. The Fire Chief will discuss this with his
Board.
Page 23
