MINi1TES CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 25, 1993 matter up again. Morelan asked about the impact on the City's budget. The City Administrator replied that money was not budgeted for this expense, however, there are funds in the special projects area of the City Attorney's budget that can be used to cover these additional costs. Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 93-8-268 - APPROVING THE AMENDED RETAINER AGREEMENT AS SUBMITTED BY TAE CITY ATTORNEY The foregoinq resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Hanson, Scalze, Morelan. Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted. STREET The City Administrator presented the proposed street ASSESSMENT assessment policy reporting that the City Attorney POLICY has completed his review and made some minor changes to the policy. Examples of how assessments would be calculated for varying situations have also been added to the policy, as well as a map showing the classifications of streets within the City. Hanson pointed out that the street assessment policy is very detailed, and actual application of the policy will be needed to determine whether it is perfect or not. Morelan pointed out that the City has received a great deal of citizen input on the policy. Morelan also praised the City staff for its work on the project. This policy was very much needed by the City, and Morelan felt the product was a good one. The Administrator commended the Council for its work on the project, pointing out that a significant amount of time had been spent developing the policy. Pedersen asked how the policy would work for a lot with the same City street on two sides of it. The Administrator believed that the decision was to consider such a lot as an odd-shaped lot, and apply the assessment policy accordingly for that type lot.
