MINU'PES CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 25, 1993 Upon motion by Morelan, seconded by LaValle, the public hearing was closed. Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 93-8-257 - VACATING PERMANENT DRAINAGE AND UTILITY EASEMENT OVER LOTS 4 AND 5, BLOCK 4, RYAN INDUSTRIAL PARK AS PRESENTED The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Aanson, Pedersen, LaValle. Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted. CUP FOR Hanson opened the public hearing to consider the RENTAL & application for Conditional Use Permit to allow rental oUTDOOR and storage of trucks and small trailers at 3011 STORAGE Country Drive as requested by James Burton of Best Auto OF TRUCRS & Tire Company. Hanson reported that the Planning BEST AUTO Commission recommended approval of the request. Scalze asked if a screening plan had been submitted. The City Planner replied that he has not received a screening plan. Morelan asked the proposed location of the trucks and trailers, and the age of the building addition. Burton replied that the building addition was added 8 months ago. The addition includes two office areas as well as warehouse space. It is the intent to use one of the office areas for the truck rental business. Morelan asked about the small shed on the site. Burton replied that that shed is used for tire storage. Burton also pointed out that the truck storage area would be on the west edqe of the site, located immediately south of the new building addition. Burton reported that there are two mobilehomes adjacent to this area, and it is his intent to add some spruce trees to provide screening to the west. The Planner reported that the Code requires the trees to be a minimum of 6 feet in heiqht. The trees should be spaced 12 to 15 feet apart and at least 7 trees would be required. Burton pointed out that he has added two additional parking spaces to the plan increasing parking from 21 to 23 spaces. Page 3
