MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 25, 1993 <br />Morelan asked if parking was adequate, pointing out <br />that cars parked at the west end of the site would have <br />to be moved to get trucks in and out of the storage <br />area. <br />The Planner replied that parking was adequate. <br />There was no one from the general public present <br />wishing to comment on this matter. <br />Morelan pointed out that the Planner's report refers to <br />the truck storage area being surfaced in grass. <br />The Planner indicated that the Planning Commission has <br />recommended that this area be paved. <br />Mr. Burton indicated that he had no objection to the <br />City limiting the CUP to 3 or 4 trucks and reported <br />that there would be no trailer rental. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-8-258 - APPROVING TI3E CONDITIONAL USE <br />PERMIT TO ALLOW RENTAL AND OUTDOOR STORAGE OF FOUR <br />TRUCKS AT 3011 COUNTRY DRIVE AS REQUESTED BY JAMES <br />BURTON OF BEST AUTO AND TIRE CENTER SUBJECT TO <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNER <br />AS CONTAINED IN IiI5 REPORT DATED AUGUST 6, 1993 WITH <br />THE ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT THAT THE TRUCK STORAGE AREA <br />BE PAVED RATI-IER THAN GRASS, THE SIZE OF THAT AREA BE <br />LARGE ENOUGH TO ACCOMMODATE FOUR TRUCKS, THAT THE <br />PROPERTY OWNER SUBMIT A DETAILED SITE PLAN AND <br />LANDSCAPING PLAN, BOTH OF WHICII TO BE REVIEWED AND <br />APPROVED BY THE CITY PLANNER, AND CONTINGENT ON <br />SCREENING OF THE PROPERTY TO THE WEST WITH A MINIMUM OF <br />SEVEN 6-FOOT SPRUCE TREES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Hanson, Pedersen, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CUP FOR Hanson opened the public hearing to consider the <br />OUTDOOR application for Conditional Use Permit to allow outdoor <br />CO1~fEi2CIAL commercial recreation (volleyball) at a location that <br />RECRPI~TION serves alcoholic beverages. The site in question is <br />GORDIES Gordies' Place at 201 East Little Canada Road. Aanson <br />pointed out that the Planning Commission recommended <br />approval of this request. <br />There was no one present from the general publio <br />wishing to comment on this matter. <br />Page 4 <br />
