MINUTES CITY COUNCIL NOVEMBER 24, 1993 Scalze felt the residents are the stakeholders in this matter. LaValle pointed out that the Council voted down R-2 development because of the input from the neighbors. Hanson pointed out that the developer is now talking about single-family development with private docks for the properties fronting on the lake, and an association dock for the other properties. Morelan felt the committee was a good idea. LaValle supported three residents on the committee if there are three volunteers. Scalze suggested that committee meetings should be open to the public. Hanson suggested that the Park and Recreation Commission choose a representative from their Commission to serve on the committee. Hanson pointed out that this is a unique opportunity to share utilities between the two cities, Vadnais Aeights having water and Little Canada having sanitary sewer. Scalze asked how utility issues would be addressed if there was not a utility person on the committee. The City Administrator reported that the City Engineer has been trying to contact the Vadnais Heights engineer to discuss the utility issues. The Administrator felt that utility issues could be resolved at the staff level. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 93-11-275 - APPOINTING THE FOLLOWING TO THE VADNAIS HEIGHTS/LITTLE CANADA MITCHELL PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE: COUNCIL MEMBERS MORELAN AND SCALZE, ONE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION, AND TWIN LAKE AREA RESIDENTS CHERYL SOMMER, HOWARD REMEROWSKI, AND JIM REYERSON The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Hanson, Morelan, Pedersen. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. FUNDING The City Administrator reported that the Planning FOR COMP Commission has recommended the allocation of funding PLAN for a Comprehensive Plan update.
