MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 8, 1993 <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following ordinance and <br />moved its adoption: <br />ORDINANCE NO. 375 - AMENDING SECTIONS 801.040, 803,020, <br />805.020, 806.060, 807.050, 808.230, 809.010 (E), <br />810.040, AND 811.040 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF LITTLE CANADA RELATING TO LICENSE YEARS OF VARIOUS <br />BUSINESS LICENSES AND THE LICENSE FEE OF MOTOR VEHICLE <br />REPAIR <br />The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Scalze, Morelan, Hanson. <br />Nays (0). Ordinance declared adopted. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following ordinance and <br />moved its adoption: <br />ORDINANCE NO. 376 - AMENDING SECTION 1101.050 AND <br />1101.060 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF LITTLE <br />CANADA RELATING TO LICENSE RENEWAL FEES AND TAG <br />REPLACEMENT FEES FOR DOGS AND CATS <br />The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Morelan, Scalze, Hanson. <br />Nays (0). Ordinance declared adopted. <br />Hanson recommended that an article be placed in the <br />City's newsletter outlining dog and cat licensing <br />requirements. <br />RECESS At this point in the meeting, 8:24 P.M., the Council <br /> took a short recess. The meeting was reconvened at <br /> 8:30 P.M. <br />OUTDOOR Scalze stated that she felt the City needed to have <br />ALCOHOL some control over outdoor alcohol sales and <br />SALES & consumption. Scalze reported that this past summer <br />CONSUMPTION she visited a volleyball game at Gordies and there were <br /> people drinking in their cars in the parking lot. <br /> Scalze did not believe this was in the best interests <br /> of either the City or the liquor establishments. <br /> Scalze indicated that the types of control she is <br /> talking about is fencing the area where the outdoor <br /> sales and consumption would occur so that there are not <br /> people drinking on the property from curb to curb. <br />The Administrative Assistant reviewed the results of a <br />survey dated September 17th of surrounding cities to <br />determine if they impose controls on outdoor alcohol <br />sales and consumption, and the survey showed that the <br />vast majority do. <br />Page 10 <br />
