These revisions will streamline the process
as well as provide for licensing fees that better cover
the amount of staff time in the licensing process. The
recommendation is to increase the motor vehicle repair
license fee from $10 per year to $25 per year. The
recommendation is to increase the bi-annual dog and cat
license fee from $10 to $15, with $15 established as
the renewal fee, and a$5 charge for tag replacement.
Morelan asked if the City licensed all City businesses.
The Administrator reported that the City had previously
licensed all businesses but determined that the
business license in most cases served no real purpose.
The program was started initially to help provide
information to the Fire Department, however, the Fire
Department has indicated that it obtains this
information by other means. Therefore, the general
business license was eliminated in most cases. The
City continues to license auto-related businesses,
filling stations, liquor establishments, pawn shops, tc
name most.
Page 9
