The Administrator will also attempt to get a
representative of the DNR at that meeting.
FENCING IN The City Administrator reported that the Planning
RYAN IND. Commission is recommending that the Council consider
PARR allowing slatted chain-link fence as an allowable
screening material for outdoor storage in the
Industrial District. The Administrator also reviewed
the Building Official's report on compliance issues
within Ryan Industrial Park. The Building Official is
asking for a Council determination on the issue of the
slatted chain-link fencing so that he can address the
compliance issues within the Park. Morelan reported that he
toured the park and some of the slatted chain-link
fencing that already exists looked O.K. and matched the
metal buildings. Morelan pointed out that the Zoning
Ordinance addresses the issue of maintenance of the
fencing.
The City Administrator commented that over time it may
be easier to maintain slatted chain-link fencing than
wood. The Administrator pointed out the difficulty the
City has experienced on some properties with getting
property owners to maintain their wood fencing.
Morelan pointed out that the wooden fencing on the
Frattalone property looks good, but the Frattalone
building is a masonry building. Morelan was not sure
that a wood fence screening a metal building would look
Page 20
