MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 16, 1993 <br />The City Planner stated that Vadnais Aeights will have <br />to adopt an ordinance by next August. It is possible <br />not to adopt a shoreland ordinance, however, in that <br />case other requirements and an environmental assessment <br />worksheet will have to be done instead. <br />Morelan asked if a public hearing was necessary before <br />the revised Shoreland Ordinance can be adopted. <br />The City Planner replied that that was correct since <br />the Shoreland Ordinance is a part of the Zoning Code. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 93-12-294 - CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR <br />JANUARY 26, 1993 AT 7:30 P.M. TO CONSIDER ADOPTION OF A <br />REVISED SHORELAND ORDINANCE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Hanson, Scalze, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />SIGN The City Planner reviewed his report dated November 9, <br />ORDYNANCE 1993 summarizing the main points contained in the <br />City's Sign Ordinance, and comparing Little Canada <br />requirements with those of the surrounding cities. <br />Scalze pointed out the Planning Commission's <br />recommendation that the City's Sign Ordinance remain as <br />is. <br />Morelan asked if the City's Sign Ordinance was <br />comparable with those of the surrounding cities. <br />The Planner replied that he believed the Ordinance was <br />right in the middle of the requirements of the <br />surrounding cities. <br />It was the consensus of the Council to leave the Sign <br />Ordinance as is. <br />TATOO Franka Lipari, 790 East County Road D, submitted a <br />PARI.AR petition signed by property owners in the area opposing <br />the location of a tatoo parlor on County Road D in <br />Vadnais Heights. Lipari reported that the residents do <br />not feel such a business is appropriate in this area. <br />Lipari pointed out the other problems residents on <br />County Road D are subjected to such as heavy traffic, <br />the commercial area across the street in Vadnais <br />Heights, and high taxes.
