MINi7TES
CITY COUNCIL
MARCH 9, 1994
Scalze pointed out that the City's Shoreline Ordinance
is very specific as to removal of vegetation. Scalze
also pointed out that the City has been very pro-active
in adopting a Tree Replacement Ordinance ensuring that
trees on a development site cannot just be leveled.
Scalze felt that the City has been a good steward of
the environment, and that there is no reason why
restrictive covenants cannot be placed on a single-
family home development. Scalze stated that the City
would be glad to work with the developer, and wanted to
make sure that the development is the best plan for
Little Canada.
Sommer indicated that a string of 75 foot wide lots
could not be developed along the lake without
considering other factors. Sommer stated that lot size
must be considered and indicated that a minimum of
20,000 square feet would be required. Sommer felt that
the Planner's indication that 38 to 42 lots could be
developed on the Mitchell property lying in Little
Canada was bad information, and that the Council and
the Planning Commission should have received better
information. Sommer also pointed out that the high
water mark must be considered in determining the
setback for a structure from the lake.
CONSENT Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
AGENDA moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 94-3-58 - APPROVING THE CONSENT AGENDA
WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
*GRANTING A SIX MONTH EXTENSION TO THE BRAUSEN LOT
SPLIT APPROVAL;
*CALLING FOR COUNCIL WORKSHOP MEETINGS ON WEDNESDAY,
APRIL 13, 1994 AT 6:00 P.M.
