MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 23, 1994 <br />I,AKESHORE/ <br />OLD COUNTY <br />ROAD C/ <br />Scalze asked why the City's streets were on a five-year <br />sealcoating cycle and not something more frequent. <br />The Administrator replied that cities typically <br />sealcoat on 4 to 6 year cycles. <br />Morelan reported that the Public Works Superintendent <br />indicated that he would like to see streets sealcoated <br />every four years. Scalze indicated that she would <br />agree with that. <br />The Administrator indicated that a sand seal would have <br />to be done almost annually. <br />LaValle suggested that the City look at subcontracting <br />patchinq work, and asked to see some cost estimates. <br />The Administrator agreed that this was an option the <br />City should explore. <br />Pedersen asked about crack-sealing of streets. <br />Morelan reported that there is a very small window for <br />getting craok-sealing done, and the Public Works <br />Superintendent has informed him that it takes all of <br />Public Works resources to get crack-sealing <br />accomplished. <br />LaValle suggested subcontracting this work. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 94-3-78 - DENYING THE IMPROVEMENT OF <br />WESTWIND AND WINDROW DRIVES AS PROPOSED BY THE CITY <br />ENGINEER IN HIS FEASIBILITY REPORT TO THE COUNCIL <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Morelan, Pedersen, Hanson. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Administrator reported that with regard <br />to the Lakeshore/Old County Road C/Jackson Street <br />improvement, direction was needed for staff to evaluate <br />11 <br />
