MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 23, 1994 <br />Council to approve the no parking, limited to the times <br />that school is in session. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-3-80 - APPROVING THE POSTING OF <br />COUNTY ROAD B-2 FROM RICE STREET EAST TO THE SOO LINE <br />TRACKS AS NO PARKING DURING THE TIMES THAT SCHOOL IS IN <br />SESSION <br />The foregoinq resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5j Morelan, LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Hanson. <br />Nays (0). Resolution deolared adopted. <br />BUILDING The City Administrator reported that the City is <br />INSPECTIONS contracting with Larry Squires to do plan review and <br />building inspections on a temporary basis until the <br />Building Official position has been evaluated and a <br />recommendation presented to the City Council for <br />action. Squires is currently a part-time building <br />inspector for the City of North St. Paul. <br />The City Administrator reported that he will be meeting <br />with some other cities next week to determine if there <br />is any interest in a shared building inspector <br />position. <br />Morelan asked about fire marshal duties as well as code <br />enforcement. <br />The Administrator reported that he is looking at <br />contracting for fire marshal duties with another city, <br />and is recommending that code enforcement be handled by <br />other City staff while the Building Official position <br />is being analyzed. The Administrator also reported <br />that the fire inspection program will be placed <br />temporarily on hold until there is someone in place to <br />oversee the proqram. <br />PARK CHARGE Morelan suqqested that the park charge increase <br />ORDINANCE recommended by the Park & Recreation Commission seems <br />too high. Morelan pointed out that of the cities <br />surveyed, $550 per residential unit was the highest. <br />17 <br />
