MINUTES CITY COUNCIL APRIL 13, 1994 Feickert asked where the extra six feet would come from The City Administrator replied that the roadway would be placed within the road right-of-way. RECESS At this point in the meeting, 9:30 P.M., Council took a short recess. The meeting reconvened at 9:45 P.M. LIQUOR The City Administrator presented a detailed analysis of LICENSE liquor license fees in the City, and based on that FEES analysis proposed that the fee for On-Sale Non- Intoxicating Liquor be increased from $80.00 annually to $100.00, Off-Sale Non-Intoxicating Liquor be increased from $40.00 to $100.00, and Off-Sale Intoxicating Liquor be increased from $100.00 to $150.00. The Administrator reported that the City Council would have to consider the fee increase at a public hearing. Effected liquor license holders would have to receive 30 days mailed notice of the hearing. Therefore, the earliest that the Council could consider the matter would be at its May 25th meeting. Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 94-4-95 - CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 1994, AT 7:30 P.M. TO CONSIDER THE INCREASE OF LIQUOR LICENSE FEES FOR ON-SALE NON- INTOXICATING LIQUOR, OFF-SALE NON-INTOXICATING LIQUOR, AND OFF-SALE INTOXICATING LIQUOR The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Hanson, LaValle, Pedersen. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. Pedersen suggested that the Council consider increasing other liquor license fees as well. The Administrator felt that based on his analysis, the other fees appear to be reasonable. Pedersen asked why the City did not consider generating a surplus through liquor license fees. Scalze felt that politically that was a difficult thing to do. 22
