MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 27, 1994 <br />COMMUNITY The Administrator reported that he spoke with Decision <br />SURVEY Resources today, and they should have a final scope of <br />services and cost for conducting a community survey. <br />This matter will be scheduled for discussion on the next <br />Council meeting agenda. <br />COMM[JNITY The Council reviewed the list of individuals interested <br />PRIDE in serving on the Community Pride Committee, and <br />COMMITTEE indicated that the City Administrator should schedule <br />a meeting of that Committee. Council also discussed <br />Department Heads serving on the Committee, and it was <br />pointed out that the City Administrator, Building <br />Official, and Public Works Superintendent, served as <br />Committee members in the past. The Park Consultant was <br />invited to Committee meetings on an as-needed basis. <br />The City Administrator suggested that the Parks and <br />Recreation Director be invited to attend Committee <br />meetings when needed. <br />Morelan suggested that a Committee Chair and alternate be <br />chosen at the first meeting. <br />Scalze pointed out that the Committee has operated as an <br />informal group in the past. The Committee did not wish <br />to become as formalized as a Planning Commission, for <br />example. <br />ARBOR DAY Hanson reported that the City's Arbor Day Celebration is <br />scheduled for Saturday, April 3oth, at Gervais Mill Park. <br />PEDESTRIAN The City Administrator presented the Council with the <br />PLAN proposed pedestrian plan for the City. One major <br />component of the plan is the Jackson Street path, which <br />could be done in conjunction with the Jackson/Old County <br />Road C/Lakeshore street improvement project this summer. <br />The Administrator sugqested that the City Engineer review <br />the matter and determine the most advantageous way to <br />construct that path from a cost standpoint. The <br />Administrator reported that the Engineer has submitted <br />price estimates for the trail improvement. These are <br />15.38 per lineal foot for an <br />8-foot wide bituminous trail, including excavation and <br />clearing work. $16.63 per foot for a 5-foot concrete <br />27 <br />
