MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 27, 1994
street improvement is done.
Morelan suggested that the pedestrian plan be forwarded
to the Planning Commission for their comments. Morelan
also felt that the plan should be evaluated against the
various street classifications in the City, pointing out
that more heavily traveled streets are good candidates
for some sort of pedestrian plan.
The Administrator replied that he will evaluate the plan
against street classifications.
NOEL DR. The City Administrator reported a couple of years ago
STORM SEWER when the Watershed beqan planning the Gervais Mill
IMPROVEMENT project, the City agreed that it would add a catch basin
to handle the erosion problem at the ditch area along
Noel Drive. The Engineer is estimating the cost of this
work at $23,292. Since the estimate is under $25,000,
the Administrator recommended that simple specifications
be prepared and sent out to local contractors for a
quotation.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved
its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 94-4-111 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER
TO PREPARE PLANS AND SPECS FOR THE NOEL DRIVE STORM SEWER
IMPROVEMENT AND SUBMIT THOSE PLANS AND SPECS TO LOCAL
CONTRACTORS FOR QUOTATIONS
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Hanson, Pedersen, Morelan.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
COUNTRY DR. The Administrator reported that settlinq has occurred
STREET along Country Drive near the pond area. There are
IMPROVEMENT poor soils in that area, and it is difficult to maintain
positive drainage. The City Engineer has proposed
reconstruction of a 450" section of the roadway to
correct the problem at an estimated cost of $50,500. It
was the recommendation of the Administrator that a patch
and sealcoat also be done at an estimated cost of
$40,700. (This would be from the railroad tracks by Ryan
Drive to Rice Street.) This work could be included with
the other street reclamation work that will be done in
29
