MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MAY 25, 1994
wider road.
Morelan suggested that the Engineer include the
sidewalk improvement in plans and specs as an
alternate. Morelan suqgested that the City could have
the property owners in the area in for a meeting to
discuss the sidewalk improvement. Morelan felt that
now was the time to improve the sidewalk while the
streets are being reconstructed.
The Administrator asked if we would be discussing
assessinq the cost of the improvement.
Scalze did not believe the property owners will want to
pay for the sidewalk.
The Administrator asked if the Council wanted the
extension of a trail from the end of Lake Street to
Savage Lake included in plans and specs as well.
Scalze suggested that the Park & Recreation Commission
look at that issue.
Pedersen suggested that the Council hold a neighborhood
meeting on the sidewalk issue before the City goes to
the expense of preparing plans and specs.
The Administrator suggested that the sidewalk
improvement could be added as a change order to the
project without the expense of an addition to the plans
and specs. The Administrator also suggested that the
issue of assessing the improvement be discussed with
the property owners.
It was the consensus of the Council to invite the
property owners along Jackson, Old County Road C,
Lakeshore (north and south), Australian, Bluwood, Rose
Lane, Lake Street to discuss the sidewalk issue. The
Council will hold this hearing at their June 22nd
meeting. The recommendation of the Park & Recreation
Commission should be available by that meeting.
TEMPORARY Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and
LIQUOR moved its adoption:
LICENSE -
LCRA RESOLUTION N0. 94-5-134 - APPROVING A TEMPORARY LIQUOR
28
