MINLJTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUI~Y 13, 1994
building as well as the front. O'Connell was concerned
with the appearance of the north side of the building
and felt a mix of paint and cedar or stucco would
improve the appearance.
Morelan asked if the fact that he is adding on to the
building requires him to bring it into conformance with
the standards of the I-P District.
The City Planner replied that the intent of the 250
rule is to allow the expansion of existing buildings
after a property is rezoned so that expansion are not
precluded. This section of the Code forgives
improvements up to the I-P standards.
There was no one from the general public present
wishing to comment on this matter.
Upon motion by Scalze, seconded by Morelan, the public
hearing was closed.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 94-7-191 - DENYING THE APPLICATIONS FOR
ZONING TEXT AMENDMENT AND CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR
AUTO BODY REPAIR IN THE I-P DISTRICT AS REQUESTED BY
SUBURBAN AUTO AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO REFUND THE
APPLICATION FEE TO SUBURBAN AUTO
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Hanson, Pedersen, Morelan.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
Council noted that O'Connell would have to go through
the building permit process in order to do an expansion
of his building up to 25% of the floor area. It was
also noted that the outdoor storaqe on the site is
grandfathered in from the time the property was
rezoned.
CUP FOR Hanson pointed out that the Planning Commission tabled
GARDNER action on the application for Conditional Use Permit
BROS. for outdoor storage at 450 East County Road D as
requested by Gardner Bros. Homes since the applicant
did not appear at the meeting.
16
