MINUTE5
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 13, 1994
There was no one present from the general public
wishing to comment on this matter.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 94-7-192 - CONTINUING THE PUBLIC HEARING
ON THE GARDNER BROS. REQUEST FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
FOR OUTDOOR STORAGE UNTIL THE AUGUST 24, 1994 REGULAR
COUNCIL MEETING PENDING A RECOMMENDATION FROM THE
PLANNING COMMISSION
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Pedersen, Hanson, Morelan.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
RECESS At this point in the meeting, 8:55 P.M., Council took a
short recess. The meeting was reconvened at
approximately 9:10 P.M.
REZONING, Hanson opened the public hearing to consider the
PUD, CUP - application of D& T Trucking for rezoning from I-P
D& T District to I-1 of the northern parcel of the Gervais
TRUCKING property located on South Owasso Blvd., as well as
Planned Unit Development to allow joint use of two
separate parcels, and Conditional Use permit to allow
parking of trucks and outdoor storage.
Jerry Anderson, Jamb Architects, appeared before the
Council and reported that D& T Trucking is planning to
construct a 23,500 square foot corporate office/repair
facility on the Gervais property on South Owasso Blvd.
Approximately 6,000 square feet of the building would
be used for office space, 2,500 would be used for
storage, and the remainder as a trailer repair
facility. Both parcels total 6.1 acres in size.
Anderson reported that the proposal is to rezone the
northern parcel to I-1 to avoid requesting a variance
for outdoor storage. Outdoor storage of trailers is a
seasonal situation for the business. During most of
the year, trailers are on the road, however, during the
holiday season there are more trailers in storage. The
southern parcel would remain zoned I-P District, and
the proposal is to maintain I-P standards on both
parcels, with the exception of the outdoor storage
issue on the northern site.
17
