MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 10, 1994 <br />will result in a significant dollar expenditure. <br />LaValle suggested that cost estimated be obtained on <br />either option <br />Desai reported that the City accepted the street in <br />1980. Before that, in 1978 or so, the City Engineer <br />had deemed the road unacceptable. At that time the <br />retaining wall was put in. Therefore, the retaining <br />wall was put in after the City refused to accept the <br />street originally. When the street was brought up to <br />City standards, the street was accepted. <br />The City Administrator suggested that the City Engineer <br />determine the location of the retaining walls in <br />relation to the public right-of-way, as well as obtain <br />cost estimates for various improvement options. The <br />Administrator estimated the cost of putting toqether <br />such a report at $1,000 to $2,000 payable to the <br />Engineer. <br />Morelan asked if it were possible to delay a wall <br />improvement until Dianna Lane is reconstructed. <br />The Public Works Superintendent indicated that the <br />street is in good condition, and he did not anticipate <br />a reconstruction project for a few years. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 94-8-212 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY ENGINEER <br />TO DETERMINE THE LOCATION OF THE DIANNA LANE RETAINING <br />WALL IN RELATION TO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY, AND OBTAIN <br />COST ESTIMATES FOR VARIOUS OPTIONS FOR IMPROVING THE <br />SITUATION, THAT IS, REMOVAL OF THE WALL AND REGRADING, <br />REPLACEMENT OF THE WALL WITH OTHER WALL SYSTEMS, AND <br />FENCING OF THE AREA <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Pedersen, Hanson, LaValle, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />AGENDA The Administrative Assistant presented a proposed <br />POLICY agenda policy for Council review.
