MINI7TES
CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 10, 1994
Agenda is sent for publication on Thursday~s at noon,
any agenda request made after that time will either be
delayed until a future Council agenda, or submitted to
the Council in a separate packet. This way, the City
Council is aware of which Council agenda items have
been published, and which have not.
Morelan indicated that there have been a couple of
times where agenda items have not been published and
the general public is not aware that these items are
going to be considered by the Council. Morelan felt
that the new procedure was a way to keep citizenry
better informed.
Scalze indicated that the original purpose of
publishing the floor agenda was to keep citizens better
informed, and the proposed aqenda policy will tighten
up that system.
Hanson stated that publishing the Floor Agenda has been
done as a courtesy, and pointed out that the Council
has considered issues from the general public appearing
at the meetings. Hanson stated that he had no problem
with the proposed policy if staff had no concerns about
it. Hanson stated that he has not been alerted to any
problems that have occurred under the current system.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 94-8-213 - ADOPTING THE PROPOSED AGENDA
POLICY AS PRESENTED
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Morelan, Pedersen, Hanson.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
COMMUNITY The City Administrator reported that Decision Resources
SURVEY has completed its resident/business focus group for the
purpose of identifying topics to be addressed on the
upcoming community survey. The next step would be to
have a Council/Commission Representative/Staff focus
group.
It was the consensus of the Council to hold a workshop
for the purpose of discussing community survey topics
and formulation questions on Monday, August 29th, at
7:30 P.M. at City Hall.
12
