MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 24, 1994 <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-8-220 - DENYING THE ZONING TEXT <br />AMENDMENT TO DEFINE MINOR AUTO BODY REPAIR AS A <br />CONDITIONAL USE IN THE B-2 AND B-3 ZONING DISTRICTS <br />SINCE THERE HAVE BEEN NO CIRCUMSTANCES DEMONSTRATED TO <br />WARRANT AMENDING THE ZONING TEXT AND DUE TO THE <br />FOLLOWING: <br />*AUTO BODY IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE OTHER LAND USES <br />ALLOWABLE IN THE B-2 OR B-3 AREAS; <br />*AUTO BODY OPERATIONS ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE <br />CITY~S OBJECTIVES OF IMPROVING THE AESTHETICS OF THE <br />RICE STREET CORRIDOR~ <br />*AUTO BODY OPERATIONS ARE MOST COMPATIBLE WITH THE USES <br />IN THE CITY'S I-1 DISTRICTS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Hanson, Pedersen, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CUP FOR Hanson opened the public hearing to consider an <br />OPEN & application for Conditional Use Permit to allow open <br />OUTDOOR and outdoor storage of construction materials in the <br />STORAGE - I-P Zoning District as requested by Gardner Bros. <br />GARDNER Homes at 450 East County Road D. Hanson reported that <br />BROS. HOMES the Planning Commission recommended approval of the <br />CUP. <br />5calze asked about screening of the outdoor storage <br />area. <br />The Planner replied that the area would have to be <br />screened. Required screening materials in the I-P <br />District are wood or masonry. <br />There was no one from the general public present <br />wishing to comment on this matter. <br />Upon motion by Morelan, seconded by Scalze, the public <br />hearing was closed. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />10 <br />
