the survey format is reviewed again. Scalze pointed out that the question should deal witri commercial, alcohol-based tournaments. Morelan suggested that the survey ask if residents favor lighting the ballfields in Pioneer Park. Morris pointed out that questions 67 through 73 deal with the perception of the City Council and City staff. Morelan suggested that question 68 also ask if residents would like to know more about the work of the Mayor and City Council. Morris reported that questions 74 through 93 address development and redevelopment. Scalze stated that a question needed to be added about the future redevelopment of Rice Street. Carson suggested that "hotel" be added to the list of questions 78 through 89. With regard to Rice Street, Morris suggested a general question asking what residents would like to see if they could control development along Rice Street. Remerowski asked if the City should actively go out and find a developer. Hanson questioned whether the City was in a position to purchase a large tract of property on Rice Street and then court a developer. Hanson suggested that the first project on Rice Street would set the tone for future redevelopment projects. Morelan asked if the City would have economic development funds available to assist in the redevelopment of Rice Street. The City Administrator reported that the tools that are available today, are not conducive to this type of project. The Administrator pointed out that the City Council would have to decide if the City were to get involved in such areas as financial assistance to projects as well as land assembly including condemnation.
