time in the future which will address resident <br />satisfaction. <br />It was suggested that the survey could address which <br />areas of police protection residents would like to see <br />increased, that is, traffic enforcement, crime <br />prevention, general patrol, etc. <br />Morris reported that questions 57 through 66 are <br />general questions about the City's park system. <br />Scalze pointed out that it is difficult to safely get <br />from one part of the City's trail system to another. <br />Remerowski felt that if the trail system were connected <br />it would be used more. Remerowski suggested that the <br />sidewalk issue be addressed, and Davison agreed. <br />Scalze also suggested a question on whether trails <br />would be used in the winter if they were plowed. <br />Morelan suggested getting input on the field usage <br />policy, and how heavily Pioneer Park should be <br />programmed. <br />LaValle did not feel the survey should be used as a <br />tool to justify building another parking lot in Pioneer <br />Park. <br />Scalze felt that the survey should ask whether or not <br />the City's ballfields should be used for commercial- <br />type, alcohol-based tournaments. <br />The City Administrator felt a policy on tournament <br />usage was a neighborhood issue versus community-wide <br />issue. <br />Pedersen suggested that a policy on this issue should <br />be developed as a result of input received at public <br />hearings. <br />Remerowski pointed out that Pioneer Park is a community <br />park, and asked whether a policy on tournament usage <br />was a neighborhood issue. Remerowski acknowledged that <br />adjacent residents had concerns with the use of the <br />park, but stated that he felt it was a shame not to use <br />the park. <br />Hanson asked if the issue of lighting the ballfields <br />should be addressed by the survey. <br />Morelan asked if there was anything to be gained by <br />9 <br />
