MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTII~4BER 28, 1994
that the CIP Budget could accommodate this expenditure
in 1994.
Morelan asked if the planting could be delayed until
Sprinq.
The Administrator indicated that the low bid may be
contingent upon a fall planting for some of the
materials. There may be some other advantages to a
fall planting as well. The Administrator reported that
the City can amend the CIP Budget and bring the
expenditure into 1994.
Scalze reported that there was discussion by the Park
and Recreation Commission about the possibility of
another grant being obtained in 1995.
Morelan stated that he had no problem spending the
money this year, but if there is no good reason to do
so, the project should wait until 1995.
The City Administrator suggested that he discuss the
matter with the Park Consultant to determine if there
are advantages with proceeding with the work at this
time.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 94-9-343 - APPROVING THE LOW BID OF
SOUTHVIEW DESIGN AND CONSULTANTS FOR GERVAIS MILL TREE
PLANTINGS ON THE BASIS THAT TI-IIS EXPENDITURE IS THE
CITY~S SHARE OF AN SBA MATCHING GRANT AND PROVIDED THAT
THERE ARE ADVANTAGES TO THE CITY IN PROCEEDING WITH THE
PLANTING THIS FALL AS DETERMINED BY THE CITY
ADMINISTRATOR
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Hanson, Morelan, Pedersen
Nays (0).
