MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 12, 1994 <br />will be evaluated. <br />The Director stated that at this time he sees nothing <br />lacking in the program. The Director also stated that <br />he was not sure of DeBace's commitments to her other <br />employers without discussing this with her. <br />Morelan asked about scheduling the Administrator's <br />performance review. <br />The Administrator recommended that the review be done <br />before year end. Given the other items coming before <br />the Council, the performance review has not been <br />scheduled as of yet. The Administrator pointed out <br />that he had not recommended an increase in the salary <br />scale for his position, and suggested that the Council <br />deal with that salary issue as they see fit. <br />The Administrator reported that he is recommending the <br />following increase in salary scale for temporary <br />positions based on the difficulty the City has had in <br />attracting and retaining good temporary employees: <br />1st Year <br />2nd Year <br />3rd Year <br />4th Year & Above <br />Current Scale <br />$5.00 <br />$5.50 <br />$6.00 <br />$6.00 <br />Proposed Scale <br />$5.50 <br />$5.75 <br />$6.00 <br />$6.25 <br />The Administrator pointed out that previous policy has <br />been to ask satisfactory employees to return the <br />succeeding year. The Administrator pointed out that <br />there is some value to the City in getting temporary <br />employees to return since they have already learned the <br />system. <br />The City Administrator reported that he will put <br />together a final salary recommendation which will <br />include the modifications discussed. <br />The City Administrator began a review of the Water <br />Budget pointed out that he has modified the budget <br />somewhat from what was previously submitted. The <br />number of water customers has been adjusted downward <br />somewhat, and the rates being charged by the Board of <br />Water Commissioner's have been adjusted upward <br />slightly. <br />7 <br />
