MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 26, 1994
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 94-10-366 - APPROVING THE DIVISION OF
PROPERTY AT 2885 VANDERBIE STREET INTO TWO LOTS AS
REQUESTED BY MR. MORRIS JESPERSEN SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE
WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNER AS
CONTAINED IN HIS REPORT DATED OCTOBER 11, 1994, AND
SUBJECT TO DEDICATION OF NECESSARY DRAINAGE AND UTILITY
EASEMENTS
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Hanson, Morelan, Scalze.
Nays (o). Resolution declared adopted.
PROPERTY Council reviewed the property line relocation being
DIVISION - requested by Mr. Fred Schletty for Lot 2, Block 2,
SCHLETTY Frederickshaven Second Addition. The Planning
Commission recommended approval of the property
division as requested.
Morelan asked why there was not 75 feet of frontage for
Lot 3, Block 3.
The City Planner reported that the City's requirement
is for a 75 foot minimum lot width at the building
setback line, which is typically 30 feet back from the
street. The Planner pointed out that the Schletty home
already existed at the time that the Frederickshaven
Second Addition was platted, and since there would be
no encroachment onto setbacks, this requirement was
waived as part of the plat.
Morelan pointed out that the Park & Recreation
Commission has waived an additional park charge in this
matter.
Scalze noted that the lot line is only being adjusted
which would not require an additional park charge be
paid.
Morelan asked about the driveway width for the Lot 3.
The City Planner noted that in his report he raised a
concern about driveway width and the potential problem
of snow storage. At the Planning Commission meeting,
Mr. Schletty said there would be no problem with snow
4
