MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 26, 1994
storage, and the Planning Commission agreed. The
Planner reported that typically minimum driveway widths
are set at 24 feet to allow room for drainage and snow
storage. It is possible to address these items even
though the driveway would be less than 24 feet in
width. However, the Planner indicated that he did not
have enough information to say if that would be the
case in this instance.
Morelan pointed out that if there is a problem with
snow storage, it would be between Mr. Schletty and the
adjacent property owner. This discussion can serve to
bring the matter to Mr. Schletty's attention.
Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 94-10-367 - APPROVING THE LOT LINE
ADJUSTMENT FOR LOT 2, BLOCK 2, FREDERICKSHAVEN SECOND
ADDITION AS REQUESTED BY MR. FRED SCHLETTY
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Hanson, Scalze, Pedersen.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
PRELIMINARY The Mayor opened the public hearing to consider
PLAT - approval of the preliminary plat for Canada Woods
CANADA west. The Mayor pointed out that the Planning
WOODS WEST Commission has recommended both preliminary and final
plat approval. This preliminary plat had been
previously approved by the Council, but approval lapsed
since over six months had passed and the final plat had
not been recorded. The plat has not been changed from
the one originally presented and approved.
Scalze pointed out the letter from the Watershed dated
October 14, 1994 indicating that specific problems at
the site must be corrected within seven days of receipt
of the letter by the developer. Scalze asked if the
Council should hold up any approvals until the
developer has complied with the Watershed's order.
The City Administrator reported that he attempted to
contact the Watershed to determine if compliance had
occurred. However, he was not able to obtain an
answer. The Administrator suggested that any approvals
could be subject to compliance with the issues raised
5
