MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 26, 1994
these structures.
Pedersen questioned the purpose of #48 pointing out
that the average resident would not know the amount of
property taxes on an apartment building.
The Administrator pointed out that #40 is not really a
City service and suggested that it be deleted from the
list. Council agreed.
Morelan suggested that some examples of City streets be
given since many property owners do not realize which
are City streets and which aren't.
Hanson questioned the need for #41.
Pedersen felt the answers would be a perception of how
residents feel. Pedersen felt it might be worthwhile
to ask residents which City services they were talking
about.
The Administrator felt that #41 and #43 were redundant
and that #43 was the better of the two questions.
Morris pointed out that one question is general and the
other specific. It was agreed that #41 should be
eliminated.
The Administrator suggested that #57 be reworded since
the burying of utility lines would not be paid for
through increased utility rates.
It was pointed out that NSP's license to do business in
the City comes up for renewal in 16 years. The City
should keep the issue of burying utility lines in mind
when it considers renewal of that license in the
future.
Morelan felt that if there was an overwhelming response
in favor of burying utility lines, the City should
obtain some information on the cost and present that
information to property owners.
Scalze asked if #52 referred to residential or
commercial outdoor storage.
The City Administrator recommended that the word
"damaged" in the paragraph following #57 be changed to
5
