M:CNUTES CITY COUNCIL NOVEMBER 23, 1994 Gustafson reported that a few of the residents favor no parking on both sides of the street, however, it appears that the majority prefer no parking on one side of the street and restricted parking on the other such as no parking between the hours of Midnight and 6 A.M. The Sheriff's Department has indicated that such a restriction would be enforceable, and it would also help the plowing of the street. Hanson pointed out that should there be some special event along Ruth Street, like a qarage sale or graduation, the City has cooperated in bagging the no parking siqns during these events. Gustafson reported that the residents would like to try the no parking on one side and restricted parking on he other. If it does not work, the residents may be back with another request. Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 94-11-414 - INSTRUCTING PUBLIC WORKS TO POST THE EAST SIDE OF RUTH STREET AS NO PARKING, AND THE WEST SIDE NO PARKING BETWEEN THE HOURS OF MIDNIGHT AND 6 A.M. The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. Ayes (4) LaValle, Pedersen, Hanson, Morelan. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The City Administrator reported that the no parking signs will be posted as soon as the signs are available. The posts will be installed before the ground freezes, however. NEIGIIBORHOOD The City Administrator reported that four neighborhood MEETINGS meetings were held early this week on the subjects of Gilanderi Lane street and water main improvements, Brooks Avenue street reconstruction, Bluwood/AUStralian Avenue street connection/cul-de-sac options, and Viking Drive water main and street improvements. The Administrator reported there was a definite interest expressed in the Viking Drive improvements. A survey of these property owners was recommended to obtain input from all the property owners. 18
