MLNUTES <br />CiTY COUNCIL <br />NUVEMBER 23, 1994 <br />of calls for service to his property. <br />The City Attorney replied that he did not believe he <br />ever instructed the Ramsey County Sheriff not to file <br />reports made by Mr. Schmidt. <br />Schmidt reported that a few months ago there was an <br />incident in front of his home involving some <br />motorcycles. This incident tied up Edgerton Street for <br />15 minutes. Schmidt indicated that the Sheriff <br />informed him that the City Attorney told them not to <br />file reports on complaints made by him. <br />The City Attorney replied that he did not know what Mr. <br />Schmidt was talking about. <br />Schmidt reported that he has been assaulted three <br />times, made 911 calls, and there are no reports filed <br />for these calls. <br />The City Attorney pointed out that the City does not <br />handle 911 calls. <br />Schmidt stated that the County has indicated that the <br />City Attorney instructed them not to file reports <br />generated by him. <br />The City Attorney replied that Schmidt had no basis for <br />this statement. <br />Schmidt asked how he could defend his Torrens title. <br />The City Attorney suggested that Mr. Schmidt ask his <br />attorney this question. <br />Morelan asked Schmidt what the City Council can do this <br />evening to assist him. <br />Schmidt replied that he has gone to court on three <br />different occasions and his Torrens title has been <br />upheld. Schmidt stated that he did not want his <br />neighbor using his property, and he wanted the City to <br />enforce its own laws. Schmidt stated that he is paying <br />taxes and obeying the City's laws, however, feels he <br />has no rights. Schmidt stated that he did not have to <br />sell his property, but if he chooses to it will be for <br />his price. <br />5 <br />
