MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
DECEI~SBER 21, 1994
street improved at this time. The neighborhood
understands, however, that the improvement of the road
will need to take place within the next few years.
TAX-FORFEITED The Administrator reported that the Parks & Recreation
PROPERTY - Commission looked at the tax-forfeited property on
COUNTY ROAD County Road B-2, and there was a split vote
B-2 recommending that the City acquire the property. The
Administrator reported that his initial recommendation
was to acquire the property, but given the Commission's
comments that this property will likely not sell and
stay in tax-forfeited status, it may be possible to
acquire the property at a later date.
Morelan pointed out the possibility of the railroad
tracks being vacated some day, and felt if that would
occur, that would be the only reason to acquire the
County Road B-2 property. Morelan agreed that the
property should not be acquired at this time, and
pointed out that in acquiring the property, the City
may be assuming some liability for it.
RECREATION Morelan stated that after reviewing the Park &
PROGRAM Recreation Director's report on program fees, he is
FEES comfortable with leaving the system as it is.
Scalze suggested that fee schedules be included in the
budget each year.
Morelan stated that he had no problem with that if it
did not create extra work for the Director.
The Director stated that including the fee schedule in
the budget would not be extra work, but rather cause
him to prepare these fee schedules earlier than he
normally does.
The Administrator agreed that it would be a change in
timing for generating the report, rather than extra
work.
APPOINTMENT Hanson noted that Ken Wehrle has chosen not to apply
TO THE PARK for reappointment to the Park & Recreation Commission.
& RECREATION
37
