MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANiJARY 11, 1995
portion of the fee was too high.
Wedemeyer reported that Lincoln Pawn never gets credit
when it picks up some stolen goods. Wedemeyer also
reported that the Sheriff's Department looks at every
pawn that is made, and suggested that a better system
would be to look for just the stolen items that they
are trying to find.
Scalze suggested that if the Sheriff's Department
adjusts their internal system reducing the time
required on their part, then the fee can be looked at
again.
Wedemeyer asked if he would be allowed to pay the fee
in quarterly installments, reporting that it would help
his cash-flow system.
Fahey pointed out that other fees are on an annual
basis and if the City allows the quarterly payments, it
will receive requests from other businesses for the
same consideration. Therefore, Fahey opposed quarterly
payments.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 95-1-11 - INCREASING THE ANNUAL PAWN
SHOP LICENSE FEE TO $6,500 EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1995
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Fahey, Morelan, Pedersen.
Nays (0).
