MINiITES
CITY COUNCIL
JANiTARY 18, 1995
That improvement can be done entirely within the
County's right-of-way.
Scalze pointed out that the County is conducting an
informational meeting on the road improvement on
January 30th here at City xall.
Cardinal reported that Edgerton was to have a 4-foot
path on either side, and that path is 8-feet on each
side. Cardinal reported that Keller Parkway is
currently 22 feet wide. Increasing the width to 32
feet will result in the loss of trees around the lake.
The Administrator pointed out that this sort of
discussion will be held at the informational meeting on
January 3oth.
One property owner indicated that he discussed the road
improvement with the County and they informed him they
would only resurface the pavement which currently
exists.
Fahey suggested that more than just repaving the
existing roadway was needed on Keller Parkway to
address pedestrian safety concerns.
Chris Cardinal expressed concern about traffic speeds
on Keller Parkway.
Fahey felt that something needed to be done to address
the needs of pedestrians and bicyclists. However,
these are issues that will be discussed at the
informational meeting on the road improvement scheduled
for January 30th. Fahey stated that the City has an
obligation to public safety, and if the County were to
ask him for his input, he would say that Keller Parkway
needs to be widened. Fahey felt that if Keller Parkway
is upgraded, it should be in a way that addresses
public safety.
A Keller Parkway property owner stated that no one on
the lake wants to see Keller Parkway widened to 32
feet. The property owner felt it would be necessary to
take down trees and dramatically affect the aesthetics
of the area.
Fahey reported that at this point the County has not
asked the Council for a recommendation on the road
20
