MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 25, 1995
Bluwood cul-de-sac can be addressed at a later date.
Pedersen indicated that the issue of cul-de-sacs versus
a street needs to be resolved first.
Scalze suggested that staff look at the timing for the
reconstruction of Australian.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved
its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 95-1-30 - INSTRUCTING CITY STAFF TO
PROCEED WITH DISCUSSIONS WITH MR. AND MRS. MORELAN
REGARDING THE ADOPTION OF FIGURE #7 FOR IMPROVEMENT OF
THE AUSTRALIAN CUL-DE-SAC, AND INSTRUCTING STAFF TO
REPORT BACK AT THE NEXT COUNCIL MEETING ON WHETHER AN
AGREEMENT CAN BE REACHED FOR IMPROVEMENT OF A 30 FOOT
RADIUS CUL-DE-SAC WITHIN A 35 FOOT RADIUS RIGHT-OF-WAY
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (4) Fahey, LaValle, Pedersen, Scalze.
Nays (0).
Abstains (1) Morelan. Resolution declared adopted.
RECESS At this point in the meeting, 9:35 P.M., Council took a
short recess. The meeting was reconvened at 9:45 P.M.
DIANNA LANE Fahey reported that a petition has been received from
RETAINING the Dianna Lane neighborhood requesting the
WALL construction of a keystone or timber wall. Fahey
stated that he personally did not like the one-to-one
slope option, and felt the Council should consider the
retaining wall given the character of the neighborhood
and longevity of the wall system. Fahey suggested that
the City obtain informal bids on both the keystone and
timber options.
LaValle asked how high the wall would be. LaValle also
asked about the installation of a geo-grid system.
Fahey replied that the wall would be staggered in two
sections, each of which would be four feet in height.
The City Engineer reported that the cost of a geo-grid
system was included in the cost estimate since the type
of soils in this area are unknown.
23
