MINUTES CITY COUNCIL FEBRUARY 22, 1995 Scalze asked about the feasibility of reconstructing the 12 foot mat on the looped portion given that the City does not know what is under the road section. The Administrator replied that there is some road bed, the issue is now much would it be strengthened. Fahey felt the area would flow better with a one-way street. If the one-way does not work, the street would need to be wider with a cul-de-sac at the end. Anderson reported that the property owners were not in favor of the cul-de-sac. The existing road has served the purpose all these years. Anderson suggested that should the 5tate not participate in the project, a cul- de-sac be improved by 801 Viking and the State should be requested to remove the existing blacktop on the loop area. Fahey pointed out that if the easements do not fall into place, the City would not be able to do the road improvement. The City is trying to work with the neighborhood. Fahey suggested that the Council grant concept approval to the project, and direct staff to work through the issues. If it appears the project is not doable, the Council can discuss it at another meeting and decide what to do. Anderson asked about the feasibility of an 18 foot mat. The Administrator felt 18 feet would work assuming that the loop remains, and subject to confirmation of easements or additional dedications as necessary. Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 95-2-56 - GRANTING CONCEPT APPROVAL TO THE GILANDERI LANE/VIKING DRIVE ROAD IMPROVEMENT AS PRESENTED AND DISCUSSED WHICH WOULD INCLUDE AN 18 FOOT ROAD MAT ON A 30 FOOT EASEMENT ON THE EAST/WEST PORTION OF THE PROJECT, WITH A 12 FOOT ROAD MAT ON THE REMAINDER OF THE LOOPED AREA, AND SUBJECT TO THE STREET BEING LIMITED TO ONE-WAY TRAFFIC The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Fahey, Pedersen, Morelan. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. il
