MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 22, 1995
Scalze felt that the Tima's were ready to make
application for a simple subdivision.
Morelan did not believe this was a simple subdivision.
Fahey pointed out that the Council will be guided by
the recommendations of the City Attorney and City
Planner. Fahey indicated that his preference in this
matter was to place the cul-de-sac easement on the
Morelan property with a variance so that the lot could
be developed as if the road improvement were going
through. Fahey did not believe it made sense to impact
the entire length of the Morelan property with the
improvement of Jackson Street. Fahey pointed out that
the Council will obtain an opinion from the City
Attorney on the simple majority issue, suggested that
the neighbors continue discussions of the options, and
that the Council wait for a recommendation from the
Planning Commission.
DIANNA LANE Fahey pointed out that staff is recommending a stone
RETAINING retaining wall for the Dianna Lane entry area, as well
WALL as authorization for hiring of an engineer to put
together plans and specs for the retaining wall. Once
those plans and specs are ready, staff would like to
take formal bids.
It was suggested that keystone is an expensive option,
and that plans and specs include the ability to use
other stone alternatives. The Administrator also
suggested that the engineer look at what the best
design for the wall system is. The Administrator
reported that the Council would have the ability to
review plans and specifications before the project is
bid.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 95-2-59 - AUTHORIZING THE HIRING OF
ROGER IiEID, DESIGN ENGINEER, TO PREPARE PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE DIANNA LANE ENTRY WALL SYSTEM
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Pedersen, Morelan, Fahey.
Nays (0).
